Is chemistry video gives benefits for viewers?
I believe that from this video it will create a lot of benefits by helping the viewers especially social science students to get vivid picture of chemistry. In fact, I got this experience before. It occurred when my sister asked me the usage of medicine she hold and I said that I did not know. However she tought I should know that because that was my field. So, how can you imagine that happened? She got wrong interpretation on my study contents. Hence, I had to explain to her but she still did not get the overall ideas of chemistry. So, I let her made up her own conclusion on it. Hopefully through this video it will correct not only her but other students mainly from social science the true picture on chemistry.
In fact, this video also included a few apparatus and chemical solution which are rare for some viewers so that it will boost their curiousity in chemistry as well as encourage them to learn more about chemistry. Perhaps, one day there a lot of chemistry teachers and chemists can be produced within this country.
Besides, it also showed the proper way to used apparatus during experiments. So. they will get the ideas, knowledge and information how to carry out the good experiments especially for chemistry students who are willing to take chemistry as their major course in university later on.

Maybe we need to add more videos next time to make viewers more clear on how to use chemical apparatus!!
ReplyDeleteAs reflection for your (effah) ideas as stated above, of course chemistry video gives benefits for viewers. You'll realize it once you apply it in your class. And here, I would like to give my opinion that quite relate with your statement above.There are several strategies to make the teaching and learning of scientific subjects in general and chemistry in particular ,much more easier and understandable.The most important of them is the systemic one which interlinks between content of the course, teaching methods, evaluation and assessment,and the use of the new technology.

Videos also can be as a teaching tools for teacher to introduce chemistry to the students. For example the video about Workshop Safety-Chemistry Laboratory. At the beginning of semester, students were introduced to the laboratory safety rules during their chemistry class. Usually, I just read the rules that stated in the Laboratory Manual and it made them bored. After this, I would use this video to spark my students' attitude and perception towards my chemistry class:)
